Historic Food Sovereignty Academic-Activist Conference Exceeds Expectations
On September 14 and 15, 2013 over two hundred academics and activists from around the world met at Yale University to consider 82 presentations on Food Sovereignty: A Critical Dialogue.
Food First executive director, Eric Holt-Giménez had the honor of closing this historic meeting which brought together agrarian studies academics, activists, and farm leaders of Via Campesina. View his short conclusion here.
According to Bill Duesing of Old Solar Farm, "The next day I was fortunate to hear one of those speakers, Eric Holt-Giménez, the executive director of Food First who was also a conference organizer, at a Master's Tea at Yale's Morse College. His message and description of food sovereignty was powerful."
