Explore Piedmont, Italy's Food and Farming Culture
Food First and our Food Sovereignty Tours program are delighted to invite you to a special evening of vicarious travel to the foot of the mountains in the Turin (Torino), Italy region.
Tour participant, Emma Sharer, will share her enthusiasm and images of a tour that took participants to cooperative Agrotorisimos (combining farms, wineries, restaurants and country lodgings), urban food cooperatives and the large farmers’ market in Turin, as well as to the heart of Slow Food International’s headquarters and their bi-annual international exposition, Salone del Gusto. Along the way we learned how to preserve vegetables and save varieties of heritage seeds and apple trees. A special bonus was the breath-taking views of the snow capped Alps near Mont Blanc.
Refreshments will be served. Capacity is limited.
