The event is free and open to the public.

This new independent film featuring Charlize Theron, Andre Benjamin, Woody Harrelson, Channing Tatum, Ray Liotta and other talented cast members dramatizes the 1999 protests of the Seattle World Trade Organization meeting, where sea turtles became the symbol of peaceful protest.

STRP director Todd Steiner will present the film and describe how he took on the World Trade Organization - and won - to protect sea turtles around the world from drowning in industrial shrimpers' nets.

BAMN is organizing this statewide student march to call on Governor Schwarzenegger to sign the California Dream Act, SB 12301 by Cedillo. Last year he vetoed a similar bill on the last possible day for vetoes. The California Dream Act would make campus-based financial aid programs available to undocumented California students. Passage would improve the lives of hundreds of thousands of poor and deserving students without papers who have the legal right to an education, but cannot attend college because they are denied access to state financial aid programs.
