The Task Force on the Americas invites you to hear Food First research coordinator, Tanya Kerssen, present her new book released by Food First Books, Grabbing Power: The New Struggles for Land, Food and Democracy in Northern Honduras.

Tanya will talk about the powerful resistance movement that has emerged in Honduras since the 2009 US-backed coup against democratically-elected President Manual Zelaya.

An important piller of this broad-based movement for democratization is the peasant movement in the Aguán Valley which is profiled in Grabbing Power: The New Struggles for Land, Food and Democracy in Northern Honduras.
