Sustainable ag and good foodie types were all excited that Obama said he'd cut "subsidies to big agribusinesses." My vision of agribusiness is ADM/Cargill/Monsanto and Smithfield. Those are the real plagues on our food system. A farmer on 5000 acres growing GMO soybeans / corn, maybe he's a vision of a 'corporate monoculture farm" but he's not really an "agribusiness" even if he's registered as a limited partnership.
