What's for Dinner? Jim Gerritsen speaking about OSGATA v. Monsanto Appeal prior to Jan 10, 2013 court date
This is an interview By Susan Yomans of What's for Dinner? with organic seed farmer, Jim Gerritsen.
Do we really need genetically modified salmon in our diet?
Fast-growing genetically-modified salmon are engineered to produce growth hormones for their entire life. People who eat this fish will eat this modified DNA, along with these growth hormones.
In spite of overwhelming opposition by citizens and public interest groups to genetically engineered (GE) food, including 400,000 public comments opposing GE salmon, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced on December 26, 2012 that it is prepared to give this transgenically-engineered salmon final approval.
